University Medical School. Qualified 1916, In the RAMC on hospital ships in

Mesopotamia and finally in India for the armisistice. Worked at St.Mary's

Hospital Manchester doing obstetrics met his wife there and went into General

Practice in Wigan, 23 Standish Gate, rented from the Earl of Derby, bought

practice from Dr. McAlligate???.1923-24 Earl of Derby sold property to Boots

the Chemist moved to 31 Upper Diccinson Street, Wigan, built a surgery there in

garden behind the house. 1931 became Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health

moved to Leeds and 1935 moved to Darlington and 1941 to Manchester. 1939-45

organising emergency hospital provision. Died November 25th 1949. Burried in

Southern Cemetery Manchester Church of England Part (Grave Ref CC1006).
