You may be interested to know that Francis Mortimer Booth we believe remarried following the death of his wife Agnes. The 1901 census shows that he has a wife Elizabeth ????? and they had 5 children, Florence 19, Edith 17, Franklin 14, Lucy 11, and Clara 8.

I obtained his death certificate from which I discovered he took his own life and it was only reading the newspaper cuttings following the inquest that it mentions that his wife gave evidence to the inquest that it raised the possibility that he had remarried.

My grandfather was Francis Herbert Booth and his wife was Eliza Duncan. I have found out that her mother was Elizabeth Keir and she married William Duncan 26 Dec 1857 in Banff.

They had 6 children, William Duncan DOB 27/6/1859 born Banff, George Watson Duncan DOB 8/4/1861 born Boyndie, Georgina Duncan DOB 26/6/1868 born Rathven, Eliza Duncan DOB 29/8/1863 born Rathven, William Hector Duncan DOB 28/1/1866 born Rathven, and James Duncan or Keir DOB 4/6/1857 born Rathven.

William Duncan was deceased at the time of Eliza's marriage to Francis Herbert according to the marriage certificate and I cannot fine any trace of him on the 1881 census. William Duncan's father was also William Duncan.

Georgina Duncan was a witness at the marriage of her mother and is living in England according to the 1901 census. I have not been able to trace any of the other children. If you can obtain any information on them I would be very much obliged.

Eliza's mother, Elizabeth was according to the 1901 census living with Francis and Herbert but according to her death certificate (she died 18/6/1916) the informant was Henry Shaw and she was living in Great Hale, Lincolnshire and so far as I know neither Eliza or Francis ever lived there. By a strange coincidence the other witness at Eliza and Francis's marriage was Henry Shaw.
