Note on Marriage
Their children were Frederick (see below), Harold, Sidney (lived Yeadon had 2
daughters), Charles (lived Australia had children Polly, Louise and Jack),
Albert (children Walter and Elsie), Arthur (buried Rawdon? had children Ernest,
Harry, Lillie, Annie, Laura, Lena, Dorothy, and another)), and also I think Ada
who died 17 Oct 1953 aged 71 yrs buried Rawdon.
Frederick (cremated at Lawnswood) and his 2 sons Dennis and George (had
daughter) continued the joinery business at Rawdon. Dennis (born ca.1910) had
children Margaret and David (who was headmaster at Rawdon School).
Note:
The above information was obtained verbally by G Edward Rushworth from Dennis
Rushworth in Rawdon in 1960. I noted details from the grave headstone for "John
Rushworth, wife Mary Anne, and daughter Ada". The grave is in the very far
corner of the churchyard, second grave up the second row from the end I think.
On several occasions I visited "Aunt" Ada at her house in Town Street Rawdon
with my father before she died in 1953; I remember she had chronic arthritis.
Dennis did not seem to appreciate that Ada was his auntie, which puzzled me. He
said that this John was most likely the brother of my great grandfather Thomas
and that they came from Addingham.
